A Sonnet I worked on recently. A fun form to work with!
In the clouds, he could only see her face.
After he had healed, he ran through the rain.
With a jasmine in hand he reached her place;
she entered his arms and cured both their pain.
Weeks ago she had left him in his car
once she got the news his parent’s blessing
was absent. Her harsh words dug a deep scar
on his salmon colored heart now crying.
Then alone, like a sheath without its sword
they were blank, stuck in an endless guilt trip
until lead bullets put him in a ward
that made them cherish their relationship.
What were silver souls now had hearts of gold
filled with new passion for all to behold.
